Cyberpunk 2077 is ready for PC, it’s the consoles holding back the release

Cyberpunk 2077 is being delayed again, and it’s the second time that the release date of this game has been postponed. Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be released in April 2020, then it postponed to Nov 19, 2020, and yesterday the game rescheduled to Dec 10, 2020.

The co-CEO of CD Projekt (Developer of Cyberpunk 2077) Adam Kiciński mentioned that the reason behind the continuous delays of the game is current-gen consoles which are PS4 and Xbox One.

Kiciński explained that the game is ready for PC and working well on the next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox X), but there is a bit of optimization needed for PS4 and Xbox One.

According to the PC Gamer, Adam Kiciński said the following while postponing the release of the game from Nov 19 to Dec 10.

“The game is ready for the PC and runs great on the next-gen consoles, and could be shipped on the scheduled date on those platforms. However, even though the game has been certified on the current gens by both Sony and Microsoft, some very final optimization processes for such a massive and complex game require a bit of additional time.”

Adam Kiciński also mentioned that Dec 10 is the final date and they will definitely not postpone it. Kiciński said, “We feel—maybe not comfortable, but confident”. This makes it clear that they don’t want to postpone it from Dec 10, and they feel confident about this new release date.
