1. Using Troubleshooter.
Well according to me troubleshooter is the best way to solve out any type of external hardware problem. You just need to troubleshoot the drive, To do that go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting. Then under the “Hardware and Support”, Select the “Configure a Device” option as highlighted in the image below. And then follow the instructions which will appear on your PC’s screen.
2. Updating USB driver.
If your USB driver can’t recognize by the Computer then the main reason of that may be your drive is outdated. So, if you update your drive then maybe the computer can recognize it. The steps to update your corrupted drive are as following:-
Steps 1. At first, you need to open the RUN box to open it you can Search it in your PC’s Search bar. And type devmgmt.msc in the RUN box. By this Device Manager of your Computer will open.
Step 2. Now you have to expand the Universal Bus Controllers. And here you will see the corrupted USB or SD card drive named as “Unknown device”. Right-Click on it and you will see “Update Driver” option, Click on that option as shown in the image below.
And if your drive needs any update it will be fixed by the steps mentioned above. But if it is not fixed then you can use the following way.
3. Repair your Drive using windows explorer.
And if you want to repair your USB drive by using windows explorer itself then you have to forget about all USB drive data. Because in this method you have to format your drive. So, if you want to repair your USB drive without worrying about the data then have a look at steps mentioned below.
Step 1. First of all, open up windows explorer and right click on the corrupted drive and then select “Format” option as highlighted below.
Step 2. Now a new pop up box will appear, You have to select “Restore Device Defaults”. And then click on “Start” option as shown in the image below.
Step 3. When the process will complete you can click “OK” button. And can use error-free USB/ SD card.
